Passport and VisaSome delegates travelling to France may require a visa . We suggest that applicants for a Visa are made as soon as possible as wait times can be several weeks. Special letters of invitation can be obtained from the Congress Organisers upon request.

Bank and ExchangeMost French banks may change traveller's cheques but not cash. Currency exchange services can be found at the airport, train station and in selected places downtown. ATMs are located outside most banks, cash can be withdrawn there 24/7. National and foreign Mastercard, Visa are accepted everywhere, Amex and Diners are accepted in selected places. Credit cards are also accepted by numerous hotels, restaurants, shops and gas stations.
ShoppingShops are generally open from Monday to Saturday at 09:00 - 12:00 and 14:00-19:00.
TippingService is included in the prices in bars and restaurants. Tips are always welcome and usually 5%.
Insurance and LiabilitiesThe organisers cannot be held responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage or accident to private property, or for additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, road or other services, strikes, sickness, weather and other causes. All participants are encouraged to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance.
SmokingIn France, it is strictly forbidden to smoke in all closed public places such as shops, bars, restaurants, train stations, etc... You are requested not to smoke inside the congress venue, smoking outside buildings is however allowed. |
