Fifth Journées De Launay

Welcome to the fifth Journées De Launay page

Held biannually since its inauguration in Montreal in 2004, the Journées de Launay is an international conference on mineral deposit research, intended to geologists from francophone countries. The conference is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and promotes the development of future scientific collaborations among researchers from distant countries.

The 5th edition of the Journées de Launay will be held at the Palais Beaumont in Pau, October 29 to 31, 2014, and is organized within the framework of this year's French Earth Sciences Meeting (RST2014-Pau).

One of the main themes of the 2014 edition is keyed to African ore resources, which have recently experienced a strong increase in exploration activity. Other highlights of the conference include new analytical and experimental approaches to the study of ore deposits. A one-day excursion will be organized to visit exceptional sites in the Eastern Pyrenees (Talc de Luzenac, Niaux caves).
